City of David

Why was a tunnel carved under the city houses?

What language did they speak in the days of the First Temple?

How did they keep grave robbers away?

And what is the connection between a toilet and wealth?

The City of David, located south of the Temple Mount, is the place where the city of Jerusalem began.
On the tour we go back in time to the Jerusalem of the days of the First Temple, 2800 years ago.

We will understand why King David chose Jerusalem out of all the cities to be the capital of the Jewish people, and learn about ancient Hebrew writing, bullae, and ancient burial customs.

We will walk through the Siloam tunnel, a wet and refreshing underground tunnel, which was carved before the arrival to Jerusalem of Sennacherib, King of Assyria, in 701 BC, and we will try to understand why it was also a disaster that Jerusalem was saved.
